I am Derek Gibb an amateur photographer from Cape Town, South Africa now living in London, UK.

I have been interested in photography for some years and bought my first "real" camera - a Canon EOS 300V - in late 2003. I upgraded to a Canon EOS 30D digital SLR in mid 2006 and have not looked back since! Although I enjoyed film photography it just proved to be too expensive. When I switched to digital I realised that there were many more advantages over film other than just the cost.

I enjoy all sorts of photography, but mostly wildlife photography. This galleries in this site have some of my favourite images, which hopefully I will add to over time.

Unfortunately, photography doesn't pay the bills so by day I am a Software Analyst Programmer for a company in Biggin Hill, Kent in England. Luckily my job requires me to travel all over the world and one day I hope to get some time on these trips to actually take some pictures!
